Authenticity & Item Checks

Authenticity & Item Checks

At Revint, every item we list goes through a hands-on review before it goes live. We built our process around one goal: making sure you can buy with confidence.

Our Intake Process

When an item arrives with us, we begin with a physical inspection before it is photographed or listed. This covers:

  • Condition assessment — We assess the item for visible wear, marks, damage, or alterations and grade it accordingly. Any notable flaws are described and photographed in the listing.
  • Brand and label checks — We review labels, tags, hardware, stitching, and other brand-specific details consistent with the item's stated origin and period. Items that raise concerns at this stage are held back from listing.
  • Serial and reference checks — Where a brand uses serial numbers, date codes, or reference numbers (for example, on bags, watches, or fine jewellery), we check these where legible and consistent with the piece. [Merchant note: please confirm the specific brands and categories where you perform serial or code checks, so this section can be made more specific.]

How We Handle Uncertain Items

If an item cannot be confirmed to our satisfaction during intake, we do not list it. We would rather turn an item away than put it in front of our customers with unresolved doubts.

[Merchant note: if you use an external authentication service or refer certain categories to a specialist, please add those details here so buyers understand what happens when an item needs a second opinion.]

What Our Checks Are — and Are Not

Our intake checks are carried out by experienced members of the Revint team based on visual and physical inspection. We do not claim to provide certified or guaranteed authentication. For high-value or particularly sensitive purchases, we recommend buyers do their own due diligence and, where appropriate, seek independent authentication before or after purchase.

We photograph items thoroughly so you can inspect details yourself before buying. If you have questions about a specific listing, get in touch before you purchase.

Reporting a Concern

If you receive an item and have a concern about its authenticity or condition that was not reflected in the listing, please contact us as soon as possible:

  • Use our Contact page to reach us directly.
  • Include your order number, a description of your concern, and photographs where possible.
  • We will review every concern individually and respond promptly.

We take authenticity seriously and will always work to put things right.
